  • IIHMR University and UNICEF Launch Centre for Behavioural Sciences at the University Campus in Jaipur.
  • Centre will Work closely with the Government, NGOs, and Development Partners.
  • Centre will contribute to Maximizing Effectives of Public Programmes. 

Jaipur : IIHMR University, a leading health management research university, in collaboration with UNICEF has created a milestone by setting up the “Centre for Behavioural Sciences (CBS)” at the pristine campus. IIHMR University through the Centre will contribute to maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of public programmes at scale, through evidence and right-holder-centric solutions. 

At the launch ceremony, Dr P.R. Sodani, President of IIHMR University, welcomed all the participants and said, “IIHMR University has achieved an important milestone in promoting evidence-based research for policy planning and program management by establishing the Centre for Behavioural Sciences. The centre is set to work closely with government, non-governmental organizations, and development partners to leverage behavioural insights to improve health outcomes in the state”. 

Mr. Rushabh Hemani, Head of UNICEF Rajasthan, shared, “This vital partnership with IIHMR University will yield new insights for a better future. Behavioural sciences offer profound insights into human behaviour, enabling us to develop more effective strategies for tackling persistent social issues”.

The thoughtfully conceptualized logo for CBS was unveiled jointly by Dr P.R. Sodani, President, IIHMR University, Dr S.S. Ranawat, Director (RCH), Government of Rajasthan, UNICEF officials Mr Dennis Larsen, Chief SBC, UNICEF, Ms Sylvie Chamois, Chief Nutrition, UNICEF, and Mr Rushabh Hemani, Chief, UNICEF Rajasthan. 

Under the aegis of this Centre, IIHMR University and UNICEF are striding to contribute to enhanced policy making, programme planning, and implementation for impactful change. By facilitating closer collaborations and curating transdisciplinary networks of researchers, academician policy drafters and practitioners, the Centre aims to generate meaningful knowledge. Another key objective is to spearhead, integrate and deliver cutting-edge social research, propelled by behavioural science and insights, to improve lives. 

Mr. Dennis Larsen, SBC Chief, UNICEF, emphasized the importance of this collaboration: The centre is established to better understand people's behaviour is a significant contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a noteworthy achievement.”
